As you can see below is the Famous most photographed mountain in Oahu, Diamond Head. Yes there are beaches and Palm trees, coconuts, pineapples and beautiful beaches . Homes and resorts that will make your head spin of money.
Limousines , submarines , condos Yachts beautiful flowers and greenery. That is what we as tourist see. The good in it but it is what most will walk by daily and never bat an eye at that makes me write this.
For months my husband has told me of the homeless how bad it is here. He like myself is heartbroken by what he has saw. I have only just begin seeing the bad side of Hawaii right in downtown Oahu.
While he has been here before he gives money to the churches that feed the homeless. It saddens him he can't help all of them but what few he can he does and so will I while here.I am not writing and posting this to demean or embarrass anyone or to put them down. I know a lot of people say they choose to live that way and that is fine also. The truth is so many don't it's not a choice it is a must to survive for them. I take a pack of cigarettes for granted but meet a homeless man with a shopping cart of what is his home ad see him picking up leftovers so he can still have a smoke.
I sleep all comfortable in my clean bed each night with a shower and food at my leisure and some
of these folks as you can see probably hasn't seen a shower in months. As you can see there belongings aren't parked in a driveway or garage it is parked so anyone can just take what they have if they please.
They endure the smell of fresh coked foods by the parks every day and surely would love just one fresh clean meal a month and not complain.
Ok so what really issues me is this story I will leave you with that was very recent here in Oahu. The beautiful state of Hawaii. Please say a prayer for all these and other homeless.
Back when the presidential summit was held here a few months a go there is a park called Ala Moana Park where many many homeless camp and lived. The city comes in loads them all on a bus to another part of the city so as none would be seen by our government while here for the summit.
This area had school buses stop and pick the homeless children up for school everyday.
Now since the summit has been over they never brought them back but still many are finding a way back. I say God Bless them .
Please share this so others may pray for them.
