Merrit Island Fl & Brevard County Fl Wetlands

The Visitor Info center at the Merrit Island  Refuge has an awesome boardwalk about 20 mins long. The flora was awesome and I saw an beautiful wild morning glory and several air plants. The blanket flowers and petunias and plants drew the butterflys  well.
Inside the center is great many great,  exhibits and photography. very helpful and informative staff.
The Brevard County Wetlands is a gold mine for Sandhill, tri color and whistlin ducks, hawks, gators and great observation stands.
The refuge has a 7 mile wildlife drive easy in and out of truck photography. great on these hot days. Trails a plenty but the only one I walk was the 1 mile Scrub Jay loop to get the Blue Fl Scrub Jays photo.
They have a manatee observation and dolphin deck . Water to murky for photos but did see several of both.

We checked out the Brevard County Wetlands which is approximately 35 mins from Merrit Island and well worth the trip..
